Making a difference
The PTA raises funds to make a difference in your child’s school life. The PTA has helped in many ways:
supporting the school Eco Garden project helping students get in touch with nature
running welcome Glow discos for Years 6 & 7
sponsoring cinema trips for Years 7 & 8
hiring inflatables for sports day fun
buying ice lollies to cool everyone down on hot days
sponsoring table decorations for year 11 prom- during COVID when other schools cancelled proms, we supported the year 11s to hire a marquee and held the prom on the school playing fields.
distributing a chocolate bonanza to all the children at the school for Easter
Support the PTA
There are lots of ways that you can support the St John Houghton CVA PTA. Whether you enjoy :
admin from taking minutes, managing spreadsheets or making phone calls;
marketing, promotion, recruitment;
project managing events; looking after people;
contacting suppliers; arranging prizes;
selling glow sticks at a school disco; or raffle tickets at an event;
helping in the eco-garden; baking cakes;

Whether you can share your time, your skills or your know-how you are welcome
We welcome anyone associated with the school to join the PTA including carers, family members, teachers, support staff, governors, administrators.
